Bold inside italics has a bug (the parser thinks the italics have been closed), but the opposite is fine:
A crazy workaround involves closing the italics, opening the bold, then opening italics inside the bold (please don't actually do this):
Different types of lists cannot be mixed — the left-most structure takes precedence, and other characters are assumed to be part of the list item, not the list itself.
The depth of a heading is determined by the number of equal-signs on the left (up to 6), so bad markup will do stuff like this:
